Founded in 2006 as the Southern Sudan Clearing Agents Union, SSIFWA has evolved into the Republic of South Sudan's principal trade association for freight forwarding, customs clearing, and warehousing - representing 287+ certified professionals across 12 border posts.
In June 2024, South Sudan officially joined FEAFFA - the Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Associations - connecting SSIFWA members to a regional network spanning Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, and Zanzibar.
